Why mix Omega 3 with olive oil?
Several recent studies have questioned the efficacy of Omega-3 supplements.
Our researchers believe there are several reasons behind this lack of effectiveness. An insufficient level of Omega-3s per dose is one reason. Also, when the fish oils are refined, their natural antioxidants are destroyed leaving the Omega-3s vulnerable. And once ingested most of these Omega-3s will oxidise with no antioxidants to protect them.
At OG our scientists have overcome this problem by adding cold pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil to the formula– bursting with powerful antioxidants, polyphenols to protect the precious Omega-3s in each ØMEGA-3 PLUS capsule.

Herring oil also contains the very special long-chain monounsaturated fatty acid – Erucic Acid, which has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and has been shown to have a significant effect in preventing atherosclerosis in laboratory testing. It is one of the most sustainable fish on the planet and is caught in the relatively clean waters off Iceland.

In order to provide our recommended 1g of Omega 3 fatty acids per day – a high quality concentrated Omega 3 fish oil has been added to reduce the amount of oil you need to consume each day.

I have recently started taking the OG Omega-3 PLUS Oil and occasionally experience a burning at the back of my throat. Should I be concerned?
Don’t worry this is quite normal and there is no need for concern. The ‘burning’ feeling that you occasionally experience is caused by the polyphenols present in Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Olive Oil is rich in polyphenols; antioxidants which fight oxidative stress, help protect the omega 3 fatty acids and prevent inflammation in the body. These polyphenols give olive oil its slightly bitter aftertaste and that burning feeling that you have experienced.
